On Thursday, May 7, 2009,
Governor Gregoire signed Senate Bill 5391, which will require licensing
of body artists and shops. The Washington Association of Body Artists
has been formed to help keep everyone informed as the implementation
process moves forward, and to work to make sure the implementation of
the new rules is favorable to body artists and collectors. An initial
board has been selected, which is working on getting organizational
papers filed and to facilitate communication with the industry and
consumers.
